LETS TALK CYBER SECURITY WITH ANDREW RAMULU

What is the latest trend in cyber security and what does it mean for businesses?

Businesses are taking a more proactive strategy to pre-empt potential vulnerabilities and future threads including quantum computing.

In the UK especially in the banking and financial sectors, state of the security software has become a clear business advantage rather than a necessary sunk cost that generates  revenue. It has become a “must have” and not just a box you have to tick a box. Hence, businesses have spent millions in proactive strategies combating security and fraud.

What’s some great cyber security information websites you would recommend for us?

Here are my top 3 websites:

    1. Using Mykey Sakke
    2. New Hope
    3. Nist

Tell us a little about yourself

I have been working for Vocus as the Program Lead/Manager Security for just under a year. I lead a Program of around $5M per year, which involves working with teams across Australia including key stakeholders at Vocus.

I love football (refuse to call it soccer) great food with fine wine although I do not have a clue about wines – but I know what I do not like!

I have also lived and worked globally in countries including London, the US, France, Latvia, Portugal, Netherlands, Norway, Finland, Nigeria, India, and Singapore.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Working in a constantly evolving technical space and delivering solutions to meet challenges in a proactive manner, to counter potential cyber threats for the company and its clients.

What is a hobby or pastime that you enjoy?

As above, football, and traveling to far flung countries to enjoy great food and wine.

What is your favourite recipe/dish?

I love all types of food. Having an amazing lamb tagine in Marrakech, fresh cured fish in Oslo, goat curry and jollof rice in Lagos; too many wonderful dishes in great many spots in the world.
