Functional testing is a type of black box testing that evaluates the conformance of a system or component with stated functional requirements. Since it is black box testing, the tester will not know the internal structure of the app or the source code. Development team will create functional unit test cases with respect to user/business requirements and testers specify the functionality requirements based on the user perspective. Functional testing can be carried out by manual test teams or can be automated.
Automation testing is the process of testing software and other tech products to ensure it meets strict requirements. Essentially, it’s a test to double-check that the equipment or software does exactly what it was designed to do. It tests for bugs, defects, and any other issues that can arise with product development. Although some types of testing, such as regression or functional testing can be done manually, there are greater benefits of doing it automatically. It uses scripted sequences to examine the software. Automation developers generally write in the following programming languages: C#, JavaScript, and Ruby.
Regression testing consists of repeated testing of the existing features of any tool, application, or system as it receives new upgrades. Testers conduct it to ensure that an application's live and new functionalities remain working and undamaged. Under the regression testing approach, the quality analyst checks existing features' functional and non-functional aspects to ensure no new bugs or errors in the application.
Performance testing is a non-functional software testing technique that determines how the speed, stability, and responsiveness of an application holds up under a given workload. The goals ]include evaluating processing speed, command response, application output, network bandwidth usage, data transfer velocity or workload efficiency.
